In 2013 Madonna optioned rights to Andrew Sean Greet's novel 'The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells', a story now the pop star's upcoming movie project 'Loved'. In her frank interview with Harper's, Madonna explains her attraction to the novel:
“It touches on a lot of really important topics I’ve always been invested in or championed—fighting for women’s rights, gay rights, civil rights, always fighting for the underdog. I’ve always felt oppressed. I know a lot of people would go, ‘Oh, that’s ridiculous for you to say that. You’re a successful white, wealthy pop star,’ but I’ve had the sh*t kicked out of me for my entire career, and a large part of that is because I’m female and also because I refuse to live a conventional life. I’ve created a very unconventional family. I have lovers who are three decades younger than me. This makes people very uncomfortable. I feel like everything I do makes people feel really uncomfortable. Why does this book appeal to me? Why did I want to adapt it into a screenplay? Because it touches me on so many levels and it deals with so many important topics. Right now, more than ever, it’s an extremely timely story to tell.” – Madonna on her upcoming movie project, Loved, an adaptation of Andrew Sean Greer’s novel The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells.

Actor Kate Bosworth is lensed by Margaret Zhang wearing Tory Burch's Gemini Link collection. A bit of investigation shows how much talent and good work lies undiscovered beneath the images-only, proudly no words fashion blogs. Tory Burch's website Tory Daily links to two short interviews with Bosworth in their January 2017 Gemini Link online issue, accompanied by a spotlight on Zhang.
Tory Daily also links to photographer Margaret Zhang's ShineByThree.com website, where she delivers a stellar, meaty commentary on her shoot with Bosworth. Zhang's essay is personal, scattered in a creative way, but also totally articulate in talking about her creative approach for the shoot. Zhang's website is an informative dazzle. Here she writes about her 2015 photoshoot in Morocco.
Back to Tory Daily and her feature in Vogue January 2017 'The New Girl Bosses'. Tory writes: "We’re proud to note that three Fellows from the Tory Burch Foundation were highlighted in their roles as female entrepreneurs making waves: Allison DeVane of tea purveyor Teaspressa, Emellie O’Brien of the environmental-consulting firm Earth Angel and Ericka Lassair of gourmet Creole-style hot-dogs company Diva Dawg. "
The Tory Birch Foundation takes a refreshing approach to women's issues with their clear acknowledgement:
This is what total brand integration looks like, and it's deeply personal. I will not use the word 'authentic' which replaces 'hero' as a word used to such a fault that it has lost meaning. Call me wowed yet again by Tory Burch and the people in her network! ~ Anne
