Seriously, I thought I was in some kind of time warp seeing this Milla Jovovich editorial, lensed by Ellen von Unwerth for Marie Claire Russia’s December 2011 issue. Milla is way too exuberant and kicking-butt animated in Marc Jacobs for a 2011 fashion editorial. Those high-voltage girls were extinguished about 15 years ago.
Of course, Ellen von Unwerth is old enough to remember those charismatic creatures, and women like me are saying “Give us back the golden girls, damn it! We need optimism and can-do energy in the world; to hell with editors’ and designers’ fragile egos. We need style motivation.”
Clearly Marie Claire Russia got the message. Anne
