Australian artist Emma Hack makes wallpaper illustrations of her models, painting the skin of her nude models and blending them with other photographed motifs. Hack takes as long as 15-hours, painting her model’s skin before photographing her as background for wallpaper-inspired artwork.
In an evolution of her artwork, the artist has incorporated live animals into her work, with the naked model wearing only a glove for protection.
Emma Hack admits that she wasn’t always so comfortable working with the naked bodies that are the foundation of her artistry. ‘In the beginning I found the nude models daunting as I have always been quite shy about my own body.”
